At Vantage we are pretty vocal about small business and the red tape they are forced to endure from both State & Federal Governments. As business owners it seems that we are forever reporting to governments for one reason or another. This new requirement below is not Tax related, however we are emailing our clients as a courtesy to inform them of this recent change summarised below.
If you conduct a business that involves supplying one or more workers to work in a business owned by another person you need to apply for a licence to operate as a labour hire provider. From 30 October 2019 substantial penalties will apply to labour hire providers who don’t have a licence or a license application pending. The regime also applies to those who employ labour hire within their business.
